Irrigation Training Class Descriptions

Landscape Irrigator Training (40 hours)
This class is geared to those individuals (new and experienced) who want to learn or expand their irrigation knowledge as irrigation designers and contractors. This class (along with a Texas License) is a requirement for those doing irrigation business in the state of Texas. The difference in the Landscape Irrigator license and the Irrigation Technician license (below) is that the Licensed Irrigator can do everything a Technician can do, plus sell, design, and consult in landscape irrigation. This class begins with an irrigation synopsis of the past, present, and future of landscape irrigation. Included is irrigation terminology, components, irrigation principles, in depth instruction to irrigation designs and hydraulics, installation, scheduling, maintenance, and rules and regulations. In addition, the first two days of this class are accredited for 8 and/or 16 hours of CEU credits for Irrigator, Technician, and Inspector license renewal. Irrigation Technician (16 hours)
This class is geared to those individuals (new and experienced) who want to learn how to install, maintain, supervise, alter and repair irrigation systems under the direction of a licensed irrigator. The Technician class is a Texas state requirement for those individuals wanting to do the aforementioned work on irrigation systems (with the exception of selling, designing, and consulting) while working under a license irrigator, but without direct supervision. This class covers a much lighter version of the same topics (especially design and hydraulics) as the Irrigator (see above). In addition, this two day class is accredited for 8 and/or 16 hours of CEU credits for Irrigator, Technician, and Inspector license renewal. For class schedules and registration click here.

Other topics included are irrigation terminology and typical irrigation layouts based on the latest standards and state regulations. Individual irrigation components, including various sprinklers heads, drip irrigation, valves, piping, pressure regulators, controllers, sensors, and required backflow methods for safety will be discussed.
